NON-EUROPEAN UNION CANDIDATES

 

Preparatory year

Since in “Dunarea de Jos” University of Galati the instruction language is Romanian, foreign citizens from non European countries will be registered for undergraduate and graduate studies only after graduating the Romanian language preparatory year on the basis of a certificate proving Romanian  linguistic competences; during the preparatory year the candidates will learn the necessary Romanian language vocabulary as well as the specific vocabulary needed for the future studies (anatomy, physics, chemistry, etc.).

The Romanian language course delivered by “Dunarea de Jos” University of Galati is focused on medical vocabulary and also on sciences, humanities, economics, engineering sciences. Students attending the Romanian preparatory course are required to pay a fee of 220 Euro/month x 9 months.

  4. application form (Annex 2, in 2 copies)
  5. Baccalaureate (high school) Diploma or equivalent - certified translation, endorsed by the issuing              country authorities
  6. high school grades transcripts - certified translation
  7. health certificate in an international language attesting that the applicant does not suffer from contagious/chronic diseases

Deadline: July 26th

The candidate shall submit the above documents directly to the University which further sends them to the Romanian Ministry of Education. This issues a Letter of Acceptance which is the basic document for subsequent enrollment.

Admission requirements

Before coming to Romania non EU students should have their documents endorsed by the Romanian Embassies in their own countries, and then they should obtain a valid study visa in Romania.

Non-EU students following undergraduate studies (Bachelor level) are enrolled based on a selection of their applications files, and once admitted they shall pay tuition fees as detailed in the Fees table. When applying for arts or sports, international students may be required to present their portfolio.

 

Non EU candidates applying for Bachelor studies

Documents requested
  1. birth certificate - certified translation

  5. Baccalaureate (high school) Diploma or equivalent - certified translation, endorsed by the issuing country authorities
  6. high school grades transcripts - certified translation
  7. Certificate of Romanian language proficiency
  8. health certificate in an international language attesting that the applicant does not suffer from contagious/chronic diseases
Application procedure

Applicants shall submit their documents as detailed above directly to the University, which shall express its written consent and send them further to the Romanian Ministry of Education to release a Letter of Acceptance.

Deadline: July 26th

Enrolment is compliance with the schedule provided by the university.

Upon enrolment, non EU students should have their documents endorsed (or certified, as appropriate) by the Romanian Embassies in their own countries, the Letter of acceptance and the passport bearing a valid study visa in Romania.

Non EU candidates applying for Masters Studies

Master studies take 1 to 2 years to complete and a Master degree is obtained upon completion of that period and presentation of a public dissertation.

Non EU candidates applying for PhD studies

Applicants for a PhD may prove they have a master degree or equivalent- i.e. bachelor degree for the long-term study graduates from the period prior to Bologna cycles. PhD programs are only full time and take 3 to 4 years to complete. They end up in a public lecture of the doctoral thesis.

  1. application form (Annex 2) in two copies
  2. certified translation and a copy of the Baccalaureate Diploma or equivalent
  3. certified translation and a copy of the  Bachelor degree entitling the applicant to attend master courses
  4. certified translation and a copy of the  grades transcripts related to the above diplomas
  5. certificate issued by competent authorities  confirming that the documents submitted grants the  applicant, in the issuing country , access to the same level of study as that applied for  in Romania
  6. copy of the birth certificate and certified translation
  7. copy of the passport
  8. health certificate in an international language attesting that the applicant does not suffer from contagious/chronic diseases .

  • International students from outside the European Union countries are allowed to pay the above tuition fees through their own bank account in three instalments as follows:
    • the 1st instalment, to be paid between 1-17 October, for 3 months;
    • the 2nd instalment, to be paid between 20-30 December, for 3 months;
    • the 3rd instalment, to be paid between 20-30 March, for 4 months (and 3 months in terminal years).
