Recognition of studies by the Romanian authorities
1. EU, EEA and SC citizens
For EU, EAA and SC citizens, the high school studies are recognized by the National Centre for the Recognition and Equivalence of Diplomas within the Ministry of Education in Romania. Failure to have the secondary school studies recognised by the CNRED will result in the loss of your student status.
2. NON-UE citizens
For NON-EU citizens, the equivalence/recognition of high school studies is carried out by the Directorate General for International Relations and European Affairs of the Romanian Ministry of Education. After the final admission lists are posted, the university will submit the candidates' file to DGRIAE which will analyse and then issue the letter of acceptance, necessary to obtain the type D study visa. The admission process is finished only after the letter of acceptance is issued.
Failure to have the secondary school studies recognised by the DGRIAE will result in the loss of your student status.
