  1. Who can apply for a study programme within UGAL?

EU and NON-EU citizens may apply to study at UGAL.

By exception, Romanian citizens may apply for seats with payment of the tuition fee in a foreign currency (euro) only for the study programme Medicine in English.

The minimum conditions for registration are the graduation of a high school, accredited in the country of origin and recognized by the Romanian Ministry of Education and proof of language competences for the desired programme.

There are no differences, privileges, or discrimination between categories of students in terms of the educational process.

 

  1. Where can I check information about the admission?

Information regarding the admission process cand be checked by accessing the following link: https://admission.ugal.ro/admission-procedure

It is the responsibility of the candidate to read all the information regarding the admission process.

 

  1. How will I be admitted to UGAL?

The admission average is 100% the average of the Baccalaureate/High School Diploma for the Preparatory year and for the Bachelor’s degree. However, if you apply for a programme where eliminatory test are held, such as: Physical education and sports, Kinetotherapy, Fine arts etc., you will have to pass them in order to be admitted.

By exception, the EU candidates will compete in the same conditions as the Romanian candidates, meaning that they will have to pass the written exams, where applicable (ex: written exam for the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy).

The admission average for a Master’s degree is 100% the average of the Bachelor’s degree.

 

  1. How do I apply?

Candidates can either bring their files to the University headquarter, room U90 or they can upload their documents on the admission platform: www.admitere.ugal.ro

  1. What do I need in order to apply to UGAL?

In order to apply to UGAL, you will need an Internet connection and an email address of the form @gmail.com or @ yahoo.com.

You will access the admission platform, create an account, fill in the blanks with your details, upload the scanned documents and then send the file to the admission committee in order to validate it. If there are missing documents or any other problems regarding your file, the admission committee will send you a message on the platform. It is your responsibility to check the platform from time to time to see the committee’s remarks about your file until you receive the final status of “Validated”.

  1. Can I apply for multiple programmes?

Yes, you can apply for multiple programmes, but you will have to take into consideration the fact that you will need to pay an application fee for each faculty you want to apply.

 

  1. What format should the documents be uploaded in?

To apply online, the documents must be in JPG format.

 

  1. How much is the application fee and how can I pay it?

The application fee for the preparatory year for NON-EU citizens is 50 euro. The application fee for a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree for NON-EU citizens is 250 euro.

The university account to which both application processing fees and tuition fees can be paid is as follows:

  • Note: When paying, please specify the full name, Passport number, type of fee(ex. admission fee, tuition fee) and the faculty.

If you choose to transfer the application fee, then you will have to scan the receipt and upload it on the platform.

 

  1. How do I know whether I applied for admission or not?

On the last page of the admission platform, you will find a button called “Send file for verification”. After you send the file, the admission committee will check it and if everything is right, you will receive an email containing a competition card. This card will contain your application number and it will be your proof of applying to UGAL.

 

  1. Where and when do I submit my original documents?

After you get the visa and you arrive in Galati, you will have to go to the secretariat of the faculty where you have been declared admitted and submit all the original documents that you uploaded on the platform. After that, you will be asked to sign the study contract with the university.

 

  1. What do I have to do if my status is “Admitted as a reserve” on the admission list?

If you found your application number on the admission list having assigned the status “admitted as a reserve”, this means that your admission average was not high enough to get admitted and you are pending. If there are going to be candidates who give up, then the next student with the highest admission average who is pending will be declared admitted. The admission committee will contact you, therefore it is important to make sure that you answer the phone and check your email frequently.

 

  1. When does the summer admission session end?

The summer admission session will start on July 1st when candidates can register online on the admission platform, and it will end on August 1st when the final admission list are published.

 

  1. Does UGAL have a community of international students?

Yes, within “Dunarea de Jos” University of Galati there is a developed community of international students, represented by the League of International Students in Galati.   1. Does UGAL provide accommodation?

"Dunărea de Jos" University of Galati pays special attention to the accommodation of Romanian and international students who come to study in Galati, providing modern accommodation according to European standards.
